A special announcement from Mr. Barry Brownlow, Chair of the Board of Directors

Mr. Barry Brownlow, Chair of the Board of Directors, Bay Area Health Trust (BAHT), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gary Wade as President and Chief Executive Officer of BAHT.

Mr. Wade’s appointment follows the retirement of Ms. Elizabeth Manganelli.

The members of the board are confident in Mr. Wade’s ability to navigate our organization through this next phase so that we can continue to achieve our vision to support health care and health care research in our community. Mr. Wade is a visionary leader with a wealth of broad corporate management and entrepreneurial experience. In his previous leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, he has led the operations of businesses in Canada, the United States, and beyond. Mr. Wade is a highly sought-after executive with expertise in general management, private equity investment, capital markets, M&A, corporate financing and banking. He is a CPA, CA and an alumnus of Ernst & Young.

At the same time, the members of the board would like to express our appreciation to Ms. Manganelli. I am pleased to let you know that Ms. Manganelli will support Mr. Wade to ensure a smooth transition of the CEO’s responsibilities. Ms. Manganelli’s career in health care has spanned over 30 years and included progressive management positions within Hamilton Health Sciences and most recently the BAHT. Over the past decade, Ms. Manganelli and the BAHT team have generated over $5 million to benefit Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University.
